Gainsborough Competition 13/08/2006

All the action from Gainsborough 2006.  Dust storm on Saturday,

Rain on Sunday

Sixteen pilots were present with one apology received early Sunday morning.  Two pilots had overnight stays and others had travelled long distances.

Results – All pilots had a good view of the site from their cars and had ample opportunity to get soaked and wind blown.  No competition flights were made although three or four pilots could not resist ‘flying the site’ even if it did result in getting totally wet through.  I think Keith and Darren got wet preparing their models only to get rained off before they had chance to fly.

John Bridgett (Chairman Retford Model Flying Club) arrived to ask if we were happy with the arrangements, apart from the weather of course, we answered with a resounding YES!.  Four supporters were on site but Steve Dunning and Trevor Plumb were the only ones to stick it out until mid afternoon with the rest of us.

May I thank all pilots and spectators for their patience, good humour and understanding.
