One of the best weekends we have had for flying this year. The odd days this year which have been ideal for flying have all been during the week but this weekend gave us three days of perfect weather. Early practice on Friday had pilots coping with a 12/15 mph wind blowing in at 90 degrees, but by the afternoon it was almost straight up the runway at 6 mph or less. Over the next couple of days the wind dropped altogether, leaving pilots undecided which direction to fly for the best. Right to left appeared to be the preferred option. Four rounds were flown and the results can be downloaded here: www.gbrcaa.org/smf/index.php?topic=1894.msg14564#msg14564 At the closing ceremony Malcolm Harris on behalf of the Scottish Aeromodelling Association invited England and Ireland to Scotland for the 2012 Triple Crown. Over the Triple Crown weekends the hospitality, friendly competition and good humour is always a pleasure to be part of and I would urge all pilots to compete for a place in the teams, but if not as a pilot, come and join us for a fun weekend next year in Scotland
