With only 8 competitors, four rounds were completed in a relaxed atmosphere, two before lunch and two after. There was even time for Richard C to have a fly at lunchtime, keeping the fairly large number of club members and other spectators entertained. Steve Underwood returned to FAI after a few years out and gave Mike Williams a good run for his money, with only a few points to discriminate between them and even a tied opening round. Bill Michie chased them hard with his Oxalys, making FAI an all IC affair for once. In Masters, the electrics had a good battle with some fine flying, with Shahid coming out on top despite limited setup time with his Angels Shadow. Maybe Alan was still recovering from the cold of the previous weekend... Advanced saw Adrian's new EMP Zephyr pitted against Dave's Angel 50, which as usual performed above the call of duty in the brisk wind. Last but not least, Chris Madge survived the nerves of a first competition to put in some good flights with his YS110 powered capiche. Congratulations to Chris for achieving two promotion scores despite limited preparation. Thanks to all for making this a successful and enjoyable day. All agreed it is a good addition to the Domestic League calendar.
