Venue: Leicester MAC CD: Kevin Caton Judges: Bob Ailles, Peter Brett, Alan Simmonds. 15 Entries in two competitions: Flying 2 Preliminary round and 1 x Finals schedule for team places, (this is the first time F Schedules have been flown at Centralised competitions), and a Domestic Competition flying 3 P09 schedules for league points. The day started off with Andy arriving at the field at 6:15am to set up ready to welcome visitors. May we thank all Officials of the LMAC for all the work to get the field in perfect condition, for their warm welcome and the use of their excellent facilities. When competitors started to arrive at 7.45 it was overcast with a biting 12mph North East wind. Model weighing started on time at 8:00am, a requirement for all those competing for a Team Place, (although just about everyone took advantage to weight their model on the calibrated scales). Andy noise tested every model before each flight as flying started just about on time shortly after 9:00am. By mid morning the sun had started to find its way through some 7/8 cloud cover and by mid afternoon the wind eased off, the temperature rose, and we finished in glorious sunshine with many relaxing outside the club house. The standard of flying was good, particularly as it was the first competition of the season. Some flying the F schedule after very little practice but there were no accidents and all equipment worked well. Five competitors used 2.4GHz. In the P and F competition for a team place: 1 Keith Jackson. 2 John Harrop. 3 Brandon Ransley In the domestic competition P only competition: 1 Peter Scoles. 2 Bob Wasson. 3 Brian Hoare.
