Linden's Farm MAC - Grimsby. CD: Peter Scoles. FAI Judges: Dave Scoles, Peter Scoles. Judges: Gary Armstrong, Alan Simmonds. Score recorder. Peter Scoles. Sponsors: OptiFuel. Hosts and barbecue: Linden Model Aircraft Club, thank you gentlemen! Podium: Clubman: 1st Dave Tofton. Masters: 1st Gerhard Fehringer, 2nd Steve Hunt. FAI P11: 1st Matt Hoyland, 2nd Bob Wasson, 3rd Garry Armstrong. Report: This was the second competition to be hosted by the LMFC (Grimsby). Weather was good, wind was a steady breeze down the runway. We made good time after the completion of the first two rounds, enabling us all to stop for a lunch break together like last year – with a barbecue being laid on by the host club (this also gave me time to catch up on score sheet entry). At the end of the lunch flyers where gathered for a group photograph, then we pressed on with the third round. Finishing with the results and prize giving. Flying: FAI – Matt was setting the pace as usual with his Citrin, also thank you for demonstration flights with Citrin No.2 at lunch break and before prize giving, I know the local club flyers that where their very much enjoyed this. Bob was flying himself to a very strong second place, with Ken making the early running for third, but was to be denied by Gary over coming his technical problems of round one to beat Ken into third place by 3 points, good to see Alan out of the judges chair and putting some air under his wings, with Ashley choosing to make the competition his first electric powered one. Master – Was a head to head competition between Gerhard and Steve, early rounds being close, but Gerhard closed it out in style with a 433 in the last round. Clubman – Local club flyer Dave in a competition of his own, flying in only his second competition. Thanks: Ashley for help setting the box, along with photographs through out the day. FAI judges Dave with the flyer judges Gary and Alan. LMFC for hosting the competition on their site and barbecue. OptiFuel for providing prizes. And a special thanks to the flyers for supporting the competition. Best Regards, Pete
