The Scottish comp season got off to a cold and windy start on Sunday the 25th of March at the excellent site on the old Lanark racecourse. Seven pilots were present in FAI and three in standard. Considering the strong cross wind and just at the start of the season the standard of flying was high. In standard Colin Wilcock took first with his Cuban 8 followed by James Stewart and Tom Laird. Colin hadn't flown for four months so did well taking first place. In FAI Malcolm Balfour and David Balfour were both flying Malcolm's new Genesis. David did extremely well after having only two flights of it to take third place and Malcolm flying very well to take 2nd. Slightly further down the ranks Chris Currie showed definite improvement since last year and the other guys steadily improved throughout the comp as well. Malcolm Harris was flying his new Plettenberg powered Impact which was excellent. Plenty of power and whisper quiet. Undoubtedly one of the best setups I've seen. Next comp is in three weeks time in Dumfries. See you there. Angus Balfour CD
