Matt - I've now emailed Manny to reserve a camping pitch for the Friday, Saturday and Sunday nights. I'm planning to arrive around 14:00 on the Friday. I've even managed to get a few practice flights in. Only problem now could be that I have a hospital appointment tomorrow. I don't have a clue what the consultant is going to say or do but I'll let you know if it causes a problem. Otherwise I'll see you there.

Aerobertics (https://aerobertics.be/) are now a confirmed sponsor of this event and a Hacker A50-14XS V4 will be added to the Axiome 70 first prize.  Thanks to Bert from Aerobertics for his support.

Just a quick note to give a big thank you to our CD Matt Hoyland, our sponsors and the BMFA for a well organised competition, some great prizes and a perfect venue for this years GBR/CAA Championship.

The only thing that could have been better was my Stall Turn - as i picked up 4 out of a possible 6 zeros for that manoeuvre over the two days; must have been my caller !!!!  :'(

Looking forward to the GBR/CAA using the venue many more times in the future.

Absolutely gutted that I had to pull out of this contest on Thursday. From the photos that were posted on Facebook this looks to be a superb venue.

Just to say a big thank you to everyone who made my one day, Saturday, a really pleasant and memorable one. I am inspired to continue and to improve. A pity that It wasn't a warmer, more sunny day, especially for the faithful ladies.  :)

Dear All competitors and helpers.

May I add my thanks to everyone who helped to set up on Friday and then did a great job clearing the site on Sunday evening.  It meant I could get home on Sunday rather than having to stay another night to pack.

Congratulations to all the winners and particularly our new pilots in Clubman who managed to keep their nerves in check and improve their flying over the weekend.

I enjoyed the weekend and with the help and enthusiasm of those who were there added so much to my weekend.  This is what I believe the GBR/CAA is all about, its members getting enjoyment from serious but relaxed competition in good spirit.

So thank you all again for a super weekend.  I have upload some photographs to our photo gallery which I hope capture the ambience.   http://www.gbrcaa.org/Photo/v/2017+Season/06+08+2017/

Ashley

PS
The lump hammer that we used to erect the tent and the banner did not find its way back into my car, any ideas anyone?  I know it was not left on the grass as that was cut yesterday and I haven't received a invoice for damage to the mower from Manny. ahoyland@btinternet.com  if you can help.

Friday - Found mi ammer in the tool box at Buckminster - thanks.

A big thank you to Matt and everybody else who made this a superb weekend.
Thanks to Ashley for calling for me and to the sponsors especially to Optipower for the prizes that I got for second in Clubman.
John.
