Apart from the obvious, do you know if there are any technical differences between the 8 Ch 6 Ch DMSS Rxs such as sensitivity, build standard and reliability?  I ask, because of bad experiences with a Spectrum 6210 Rx compared with the 9 Ch Spectrum.  Both were being controlled by a JR DSX9 Tx.

Thanks

Peter

Peter,
I have both and have never had a single problem with any at all.
There are two immediate differences between the 6 and 8 channel ones:

  • The 8 channel has a nice solid case but the 6 channel case is made of wrapped plastic sheet a bit like the Spektrum park fly RXs - not a problem, just doesn't feel quite right to me
  • The 8 channel telemetry module is full range but the 6 channel full range RX only comes with a short range telemetry module. Actually I've never noticed it going out of range, but I haven't really looked that hard. You can change the module (its the satellite RX) but by the time you've done that it costs more than buying an 8 channel one in the first place

Hi Peter, sorry it took me so long to reply, but i couldn't log in...Doh....   I have only just started selling JR radio's so me knowledge on them is little... However, what i can say is the reason i am now selling them is due to the fact that they have no ties with Spectrum any more..

The JR DMSS system is a total different system to Spectrum, and in my opinion far better  far better quality..

                                Regards Bill

Thanks Bill.  It used to be on the DSX series that everyone said use the 12 ch Rx in preference to the 9 ch Rx because the 12 was made in Japan.  However, my DMSS 11 ch Rx says Made in Korea so I guess even that has gone away now!
