Gentlemen

I am planning a new pilots open day for the 3rd April 2009 at Skelbrooke.
It is a fantastic day for all you budding World champions to come along and try your skills, supported/mentored  by 3 of our top pilots here in the UK.

The details are set out below:

On the day.

Any model under 7Kgs can be flown, there is no need to arrive with the latest 2m design - although of course they are welcome.
Last year we had a pilot attend flying a jumper 25 who managed most of the manouvers

35MHz or 2.4GHz but we would like to know your frequency before the day.

Pilots need not be members of the GBR/CAA but must be current members of the BMFA and Membership cards must be shown on the day. BMFA ‘A’ or ‘B’ certificates are not necessary to fly at this event, however models may be safety checked before flight and models will only fly at the discretion of the organisers.

The aerobatic box will be marked on the field but pilots will be able to take off and land into wind.

Pilots Briefing around 9.30am.

Your first flight:  To get to know the site and to help settle the nerves, pilots can choose the manoeuvres they want to fly, but they should include a loop(s) a roll(s) and at least one turnaround manoeuvre to be completed at each end of the box; e.g. split S, Immelman turn, Stall turn, Half cuban 8, Half reverse cuban 8, Humpty bump.  However we would encourage you to fly the Clubman or Intermediate schedule even if you are not totally happy with the way you fly some manoeuvres, you may want to miss out some manoeuvres, and that is fine.  After all pilots have flown once, suggestions will be made on how to start improving the sequence flown, either with your mentors or as a group.

Second flights:  Introduce some discipline.  Engine start within 3 minutes and complete your choice of manoeuvres and land within ten minutes.

Third flight:  Have a go at flying a schedule, Having your mentor calling your manouvers - normal practise in a comptetion!

Last flight(s):  Time and score the choice of manoeuvres or Clubman schedule. As many times as there is time for.

A couple of demonstration flights (if we have time).

Meet at the end of the day to find out if the objectives of the day have been achieved and to answer any questions you may have.

A popular one is "How do I enter my first competition?"

All this for only £5.00 - What, I hear you say "Only a fiver!"

If you are interested in attending, a very relaxed and information packed day then please contact me, by leaving a reply on here, or by email.

For more information and to view testimonials from previous attendees please click on  " New to precision aerobatics we are hear to help" you will find it on the home page.
I am limiting numbers to 9 so if you plan to attend please let me know as soon as possible.

Looking forward to seeing you on the day,

Bob Rowland

Attendees
Peter Kettle
Josh-Luke Gibson
Albert Rowe
Brian Rowe
Chris Catherall
Simon Naylor

Gentlemen,
Looking forward to seeing you all on the 3rd.
Just a couple of things to help you get the best out of your day.
1. Please bring something to sit on. You also will need warm clothes and something to eat and drink.
The nearest facilities are quite a drive away so please come prepared.
2. bring a cover for your model - if the weather turns a little wet it is easier to place a cover over it, than pack it all away - again it is a bit of a walk to the car.
NB We have no toilet facilities.
I will be at the field from 8am. if you want me mobile number then please message me privately and I will send it to you.

Looking forward to a great day!

Very Best Regards.

Bob

Hi Chris,
Thanks for your offer of help.
I will have 4 of us there hopefully on the day - however if you want to come and lend a hand I am sure there will be jobs to do.
Any help is always much appreciated!
If nothing else bring a model and grab a practise flight ready for the comp!
Very Best Regards
