I heard a little while ago that there had been a change of venue from that originally published and more than one country has been rumoured as the hosts, but this has now been announced on the FAI web site and the competition will be held in Argentina between the 3rd Nov to 12th Nov 2017.

Just to say that we have sent off our Preliminary Entry Form for Garry Peacock and Steve Underwood to represent the UK.

Unfortunately we do not have a third team member who is able to compete this time.

Ashley -  a straight question on behalf of the membership who sometimes suffer from lack of information & have to rely on gossip.

 Why?

I turned down my team place because I will not be allowed leave from work from early November for 6 weeks.

Kevin, not questioning why people like yourself cannot go! We've all got jobs or families who take priority over flying toy aeroplanes.

My question to Ashley - or the committee - is why have we not got a 3rd Team member, using our time honoured method of going down the list of competitors until we find someone who will go?

Great store was set at the last team selection meeting about not sending people who had not flown an F in team selection events. That must pale against not sending a 3rd member who won't even be flying a P now.

Hi Stuart

We do not have a pilot who wishes to have their name put forward.

Hi Ashley
How far down the list did you go just P&F only pilots or have you not explored any "P" pilot that maybe would like to go as we have done on previous formats when selecting a team or are all the "P" pilots not good enough to take part!!!!

Thank you Gary - I have changed all the titles of posts to 3rd to 12th to save any confusion.

Ken - The Committee asked everyone who we thought might like to go.  That would have been the first step in the process, but then it would have had to go to the BMFA for final ratification.

Ashley
In previous selections pilots have been asked from the centralized list ie P&F then "P" pilots from top to bottom if they would be willing to participate in the events if a space is available has this not been done, then why has the committee taken upon its self to alter the previous formats and ask pilots WHO they think would like to go?????

Hi Ken

Sorry bad choice of words.  Yes this was done by me and I gave this information to the Committee meeting before our discussion on the subject.

Is there someone who you think I have missed?

My question would be who have you asked I know the last time the Worlds in Argentina was held we could not get many pilots so every one was asked including ME. The thought of being asked was held by me of fantastic great just been asked BUT I am not good enough to take part (being asked was all that I needed ) what about other pilots have they all been asked I do not have that info as I only speak for myself If by asking all the centralized pilots we still do not have a full team no problem my belief is every one should be asked first as we have done in the past.
