Finally got round to making a proper battery tray for my Agenda, 2 years after I first flew it! Weight saving 21g over the plywood original; should be able to use even bigger batteries now!

What size batteries are you thinking of Keith?

Thanks

One big enough for a P and an F schedule if I know Keith.  :D

Hi Chaps,

Here's the battery tray installed. This is more for anyone wondering how we do things in f3a. I attach the tray with two m3 screws to right angled carbon lengths, mounted across the fuselage. In this way the tray can be easily removed to access the U/C screws.. I also use end stops to locate the battery on the tray, which stops it sliding. I then use a single velcro strap to retain without having to tighten them to much. Other people just use Velcro straps and a "grippy" layer of PU foam rubber to hold the batteries in place.

BTW the packs were 5800 mAh and the newer 5000 mAh packs from Optipower

Can I ask where you get the carbon from Keith please

Keith Jackson

Hi Justin,

There are a variety of sources for carbon composite boards. Try:

dumfries-model-flying.com/carbon?zenid=90789a692e0c58ddcc0c894e45b7b5a6

or

easycomposites.com (Leslaw works there)

Thanks
