Question for Keith J (hope you well).........whilst reading through this topic...


you say: Also may be worth checking prop side thrust with a straight bar (e.g. like angle carbon) rather than using the props. I found it much easier to do this when I was setting up my new Contra drive recently and was able to be precise down to a 1mm.

Can i ask against what datum you check this and the method in a bit more detail - I'm guessing a decent length bar against the zero line for down thrust but side thrust far more difficult to pick up a datum ....measuring the prop tips seemed a simple idea but anything to enhance the accuracy must be welcome...


pleased to see the similar sized props improved matters, helps to take the quesswork out of speccing a new machine a little..
