CD: Brian Carolan. Judges:Ireland: Noel Barrett, Dave Foley. Scotland: Wolfgang Schiebel. England: Bob Ailles. When Ken, Matt and I arrived at the field for Friday practice around 2pm Richard Christopher and Peter Scoles were already there as they had travelled across on the Thursday. The wind was very strong and turbulent but we were all keen to get in at least a couple of practice flights. All was good for the England team but I (flying as a last minute recruit of the International Team) had a few engine problems which I thought I had solved the day before. Before we went of to find our B and B and an evening meal we were called to the barbeque where more burgers were being cooked ... surely it would have been impolite not the do them justice. Saturday was a better day with less wind and very smooth air. Three rounds were flown as the forecast was rain and wind next day. Sunday was true to forecast and the organisaton to meet for 12 noon worked well but the promise of showers delayed flying the forth round until around 2pm when the wind started to increase and give all pilots a real challenge. The late start also helped those who made the most of the hog roast where we gathered in a field for the food to be 'served' at around 11pm. Angus fell off the bucking bronco around 1am, so we went home. (See www.gbrcaa.org/smf/index.php?topic=1974.msg11587#msg11587 ). Congratulations to Scotland on their win. Ireland 2nd and England 3rd with the International team holding up the league in 4th place. Thank you Brian for a super weekend. Ashley
