Dumfries - 14th April 2007
The Dumfries event turned out to be an absolute scorcher. Best day of the year so far without a doubt with hardly a breath of wind. Simon McNeill made his debut into F3A with a big splash by coming first in Intermediate. He flew his Showtime very well, smooth and composed and afterwards gave a short 3D demo as well. Very good. Tom Laird also steadily improved and had a good last flight - keep up the good practice. In FAI all pilots were flying well but the two that stood out were Malcolm Balfour and Gordon Frost. Malcolm has just recently made a return to 2m models and showed he still has what it takes to get right to the very top. He will be back in the UK team before long without a doubt. Gordon Frost is also coming on leaps and bounds and scored massively in round two - and he thoroughly deserved it. Another future UK team member I reckon. Next event is at Tarbolton on Sunday 20th May Angus Balfour CD
